GRAPHITE
Graphite
Batteries and energy storage products still play a secondary role in traditional graphite applications. The demand for graphite in lithium-ion batteries is growing rapidly and is expected to ultimately become the number one market application for graphite. The anode market has expanded from approximately 85,000 tons in 2015 to over 160,000 tons in 2018 and is projected to reach 1,747,800 tons by 2028. The increasing size of the graphite market underscores its importance in the lithium-ion battery supply chain, which can no longer be underestimated. The diverse specifications and qualities of both natural and synthetic graphite make it challenging to pinpoint bottlenecks in the anode supply chain. The growth in the supply of both natural and synthetic anode production is vital to the expansion of lithium-ion battery production.
Vein Graphite
With a surge in the demand for vein graphite, as it is an integral part of modern industries manufacturing batteries, carbon brushes, lubricants, and plastics, among others. The unique properties that vein graphite possesses have proven to be invaluable to these industries. Dexterous DMCC is well-positioned to provide this high-quality, in-demand product.
Flake Graphite
Flake graphite is a naturally occurring form of graphite that is typically found as discrete flakes ranging in size from 50 to 800 μm in diameter and 1 to 150 μm thick. This form of graphite has a high degree of crystallinity, which equates to near-theoretical true density, high thermal and electrical conductivity, and low springback (excellent molding characteristics).
Typical purity level is 99.9%+ carbon.
Features include:
- l Crystallin perfection
- l High thermal and electrical conductivity
- l Lubricating properties
- l Chemically inert
- l Resistance to oxidation and high temperatures
- l High density
- l Environmentally friendly
